Is there a public discussion place to understand the status of this?  
e.g., to see whether this patch got it into git yet. 
Right now, I keep my own local workaround for this in my working copy, 
and it's sticking my eye, I'd like to be able to reconcile with the 
common repo as soon as your patch is in git.
