As part of my testing to solve dylib problems on OSX, I came across the
dtruss command, which should be
useful in detecting just what LilyPond is doing during the failed
compilation.
Issuing the command
dtruss lilypond myfile.ly >& logfile
should create a log file that shows what is happening in terms of the cache
folder requests.
Jake, if you could do this, it might point us in a useful direction.
