Yes, that would be awesome. The sample images you posted look fine.

Actually, I never liked the hack to set 'dash-period to a negative value.
To me it would seem much more natural to use the 'style property, i.e.
\override DynamicTextSpanner #'style = #'none
Of course, that would need to be changed in the Line_interface::line method...

I don't think this a problem for text dynamics...
