My apologies; that was poorly worded.  There is a strict "no top
posting" check on the gmane interface -- I've just verified this
myself, first with a silly top-posting example, and then with a real
lilypond example (with no silliness) getting bounced.

I'll reword that section to make it clear that it's the gmane which
causes the problem, not the bug-lilypond list.
(we include the gmane link to make it easier for non-subscribers to
send bug reports)
