I think the specs are omitting a major issue: swing rhythms are heavily  
syncopated, so the beginning and end of longer notes is affected a lot by  
swing as well.

Somewhat problematic may be that shorter durations tend to be at speed: a  
group of four sixteenth notes will have equal duration even when two eights  
at the same time are swingized.
