My help isn't a good thing; I only step in when something seems
seriously wrong.  And I'm now very strict about "10 hours a week";
if I spend half an hour cleaning up bug reports, then that's half
an hour that I'm not spending on something that's more
specialized.

I think the target should be to verify (or reject verification)
for all items within a week of the release.  If it's slower than
that, then it starts to become a problem for developers and the
release cycle -- if a fix doesn't work, it's good for the
programmer to return to the problem before he forgets what he did.
