This is a follow-up to issue 1117, issue 1215 and issue 1225.

Woodwind diagrams are currently barely documented, and the syntax itself  
could be improved:

Mike Solomon is supposed to be in charge, but he's too busy at the moment  
so any help will be much appreciated!
