Clarifying: I have no problem with you adding a priority-medium
issue for the performance drop.  In fact, since it's not related
to 1211, we really _should_ have a separate issue for that, so
that we don't lose Neil's nice benchmarks once 1211 is closed.

However, it's not a consideration for blocking a stable release.
