http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=1468No, they're different. stderr and stdout are different ways of displaying text in unix (including cygwin, and possibly the windows command-line as well). You can redirect them differently, for example.
The global -q option would change *how much* output is generated, not the manner in which it is displayed.
