Yes, but I'm pretty certain that the version of those files in the
regtests compiles correctly. :)

Oh, totally. As well as renaming the whole tree to regtests/.
And moving log-only files to regtests/log/. And enabling
#(warning-as-error) on any non-log-only-files. And maybe making a
"known good version" of the entire pngs, so that potential regtest
checkers who know nothing about ancient notation can have a clue
whether "neumes are supported" in the current version is value
correct or complete bunk. And maybe adding the music2xml stuff to
the regtest checker.
There's a *ton* of things I want to change in the regtests, many
of them dating back to 2007 or so, but even *I'm* not silly enough
to try starting that project while we're waiting to release 2.14
if there's no critical issues discovered in the next 10 days. :)
