Knowing that it's supposed to work with gnome-help is useful.  Hearing that  
it's not easy to make them work reliably is also useful, and points to a  
problem.

If anybody ever works on this issue, perhaps they should get in touch with  
distro packagers to see if we're doing anything wrong with our omf format?   
Or maybe just make them aware of this so that they can add it to their  
packages?  of course, it might be nice if we had more communication with  
packagers in general, but of course the main developers are totally  
overwhelmed with our existing problems, and in any case there's no  
enthusiasm for touching our build system.
