Indeed.  In addition, the Bug Squad is not supposed to use
images sent by users (or developers); they are instructed to
generate images themselves with either -dpreview, --png, or --pdf
as per
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.15/Documentation/contributor/adding-issues-to-the-tracker

Manually cropping images is far too much work.
