I have conflicting recollection as to whether a crash in input file with incorrect syntax is Critical or not. I know that some people will say that any segfault whatsoever would be a crash, but I know that some people would argue against that on pragmatic grounds.

This discussion is postponed until the GOP "Issue priorities" policy debate. This was originally scheduled to begin on 20 July, but it may be postponed by a week or two if more urgent issues pop up (such as patch handling).

for now let's just leave the Critical marker.
