...and thus breaks documentation links, notably info pages.
This will probably happen in all binary builds, it happens
in GUB.

With this change, quite possibly we need all distribution maintainers to update/change their build scripts. Is this intentional? Can this be reverted? Do we need to warn package maintainers (how?).
