http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=519Adding text to lilypond files can be done exactly, namely by asking for a font using its real, complete font name. However, using aliases like `sans' inevitably maps to different fonts on different platforms. BTW, browsers do the same.
My conclusion is that this is a documentation issue: We should state in the docs that if you want to make a .ly file processed by LilyPond result in identical PDFs on any platform, you need *exact* font names, avoiding any aliases.
