This is stupid enough that I suggest that Reinhold's patch (and my equivalent recasting of it) make sense only when we also allow MUSIC_IDENTIFIER as a top expression in which case the special-casing of \pageBreak will no longer be necessary.
Actually, the rationale for that patch was never about top-level. It was simply to accept things like
\mymusic \addlyrics \mylicswithout { } in those places where you could also use \mymusic (without lyrics). I simply looked at the places in the parser where \addlyrics was used and added identifiers there, too. I was never thinking that this would also influence top-level expressions. Feel free to change the parser to anything you deem sensible, as long as
input/regression/newaddlyrics-music-identifiers.ly still compiles correctly.
