I've reverted Phil's
e12188443ed992f223f0d7fd45965003de94588f
and it's now working.

Back to the drawing board, I guess?  Phil, could I interest you in
the dev/website-build branch?

so that we can get this sorted out more reliably?  (i.e. using
$LILYPOND_WEB_MEDIA_GIT ?)
