http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=1670 And now for a somewhat hilarious side-effect of Issue 2024: $identifier-in-Scheme-syntaxis pretty much equivalent to what you would want here for calling your variables with strange characters in their name. I would not recommend it, but it should work.
