We should generate gitstats automatically as part of the release process.   
(in fact, the whole release process could use another layer of automation)

David helpfully provided commands to get committishes:
  git rev-list -1 --until="1 year ago" origin
  git rev-list -1 --until="3 months ago" origin
  git rev-list -1 origin

These are then fed to gitstats, generated, and then uploaded.  I think this  
should go in the lilypond-web-git repo that's on its way.
