OK - looking at "Unify the rules and variables for xref-map files" I've run  
make; make doc and then compared the file-list generated prior to applying  
the patch with the one after.  I get a strange result:

I think I'd expect the xref-map differences but I'm confused about what's  
going on with rotating-objects.html and its German variants. This one will  
need attention from Julien.
