I was able to reproduce the unexpected behaviour reported by Eluze. Text of  
bug report follows:

with this code

\relative c''{ \voiceTwo g2. }
\relative c'' { \stemDown  g2. }

the placement of the dot is different - once above and once below the staff
line.

what's the rationale for this?
