Well it depends on how much you intend contributing to the project, it
might be as simple to make a git formatted patch and attach that to an
email, then go back-and-forth with someone who will be willing to
shepherd your patch on any complex changes.

However that's not really a good long term solution.

So what do you want to do with your initial patch?
