It was Andres Segovia (the editor).
He encouraged many composers to write for the guitar and these
compositions were "edited" by him and published, many of them by
Schott.
"edited" means not only adding fingerings etc, but (at least
sometimes) changing the text!
(Of course _without_ any annotations)

Btw, in some of his editions I mean to remember having seen two
different fingerings for the same notes, _excluding_ each other.
Perhaps Segovia changed his mind about the fingering and didn't erase the old.
And maybe the typesetter, poor guy, didn't know what to do and printed them all.

The link in my previous mail was taken from

There you can see an excerpt of the Ponce-manuscript, too.
Comparing them will show some greater differences.

Well, this was Andres Segovia. A great guitarist, but his editions are
... hmmm ...

On the Schott-site he is named as the editor ("Herausgeber")

Others are speaking of the _arranger_ A.Segovia
