It works for me, and I have not observed unwanted side effects.
Putting up a review for this one-liner felt like overkill, otherwise I 
would have done so in the first place. I will do it now.

If I read the section above the one you linked correctly, I probably 
should have sent the original mail to -devel rather than bugs-, so sorry 
for bothering you.
