Just have a look at usgage 4.1.1 Configuring the system
It seems you haven't defined any environment variable EDITOR
thanks, I've added the variable to .bashrc
but it doesn't work anyway:
$ echo $EDITOR
gedit
$ gnome-open textedit:///etc/issue:1:0:0
$ lilypond-invoke-editor (GNU LilyPond) 2.17.27
sh: 1: emacsclient: not found
sh: 1: emacs: not found
lilypond-invoke-editor (GNU LilyPond) 2.17.27
sh: 1: emacsclient: not found
sh: 1: emacs: not found
^C
I don't use P&C when retyping because of inflation (my urtext version of
BWV246 is 1.6 Mo instead of 13.9. I just checked and have a problem,
maybe due to the tree I have adopted?
Nevertheless, here is the begining of my .bashrc
# User specific aliases and functions
export EDITOR=/usr/bin/emacs
Cheers,
Jean-Charles
