Have you tried
1. abc2xml (http://wim.vree.org/svgParse/abc2xml.html)
2. musicxml2ly
The result from this 2-step conversion might be better than abc2ly.
Willem Vree's abc2xml is really quite good. (Much better than
Frescobaldi's very unfinsihed and experimental MusicXML export for
example)
