I should have been more precise: it’s only _negative_ Y-offset values that remain without effect, which is a pity, since dynamics overlapping with staff lines are the biggest point about using the function at all. After reading the issues you pointed to – from which I couldn’t now draw information in respect to this particular problem – I also checked the 2.19.16 IR DynamicText page <http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.19/Documentation/internals/dynamictext>, and the only property that might be relevant is Y-offset, correct me if I’m mistaken. DynamicText isn’t aligned to anything vertically.Simon Albrecht <address@hidden> writes:Hello list, I use a music function to tweak the X and Y-offsets for a grob. This function used to work in 2.19.8, but in 2.19.15 and .16 it just remains without effect – there are no kind of messages. Any idea where this might come from?I don't see that it remains without effect: using different values clearly shows an effect here.
However, I’ll post the question to ly-user then. Yours, Simon
That the effect is different from previously is likely due to how the default way of calculating alignment/offset has changed. See <URL:https://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=3978>, <URL:https://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=4036>, <URL:https://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=4022>. If you have additional suggestions to make, they probably would pick up starting with one of those reports.
