Dear all,
I would like to inform about an exciting project I made with LilyPond.
Every year, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra has its own Eastern
Festival in Baden-Baden. They play one big opera and numerous
symphonic concerts.
This year, the opera will be "Der Rosenkavalier" of Richard Strauss.
In addition and thanks to the very active education program of Sir
Simon Rattle, they propose a children version of the big opera.

I was appointed to arrange a short and reduced version of the Rosenkavalier.
[...]

All the scores have been made with LilyPond (Vocal score, Full score and parts).

Later this arrangement will be edited by Schott - unfortunately they
can't / don't want to work with LilyPond and it seems they will make
their own engraving.
But the premiere will be played with the nice LilyPond scores!
What happens with your copyright for your LilyPond version? Have you
signed it away? Do you retain publishing rights for it?

Strauss died in 1949 so copyright of his heirs will stick around until
something like 2019 I think.
To be more precise: from 1st January 2020 his works will be public domain, at least in the EU.
But if you were free to publish it
afterwards, that would be great.

Indeed.

Regards, Simon
