Interesting. I can, with Ubuntu 14.04 and Lily 2.18.2. What else might 
make a difference?

No, they are not. It’s the same with two scores – the first staff tests 
the effect of the revert, the second staff needs to be independent of that.

They aren’t and were only added to ease referencing the individual cases.
