Why is this on the bug list?
At any rate, one could make
\offset Beam.positions #'(2 . 3) \default
resolve to an override but I don't think that there is a whole lot of
motivation for having this. I doubt people would use it a lot.
You could likely write
\offset Beam.positions #'(2 . 3) #'()
at the current point of time. Which is similarly ugly. Or
\offset Beam.positions #'(2 . 3) Bottom
which seems weird. You get the drift.
