I changed the snippet following your suggestion. Though, I've no clue
about clarinet ...

However, the not corrected snippet fails with a similar gs-error on my
machine using 2.18.2:

No clue why it works inside LSR. As far as I know LSR is always
running in jail, this may have an impact here.
Or probably: my 2.18.2 uses Ghostscript 8.70 maybe LSR is different...
