thanks for being so persistent; I’m not very familiar with musicxml2ly
but I submitted your patch here on your behalf:

As far as I can see it doesn’t break anything from our regression
tests, so unless someone more knowledgeable than me objects, it should
be merged in the next version (2.21.2).
