Hi make people,
This may be a bug.
I have a makefile with only one line:
orna: address@hidden
(The file orna.o exists already)
I get the following error:
**** no rule to make target 'address@hidden' for target 'orna'. stop.
I am using gmake version 3.79.1 built for alpha-dec-osf5.1
on an Alpha machine, OSF1 version 5.1
When I use the a make which came with the Alpha, I have no problem: It
does as I expect it to do, and defines the dependency of target orna as
orna.o.
According to the gmake documentation, this was supposed to work, and I
googled for this error message with no luck.
