The problem is that the Makefile that Perl MakeMaker is generating is
not valid. Unfortunately the people on this list know make, but not
necessarily Perl, and won't be able to help with this. You'll need to
take this up with some Perl folks to try to figure it out.

When you contact them please don't forward entire projects like this to
the list: generally people don't have the time to go through all of this
themselves. When asking for help please provide the type of operating
system, version of software (such as perl or GNU make), an exact copy of
the commands you are typing, an exact copy of the error messages (if
any) you receive, and, an exact copy of the line that the error is
reporting as well as some context around it. If you can reduce the
problem to a very simple, standalone makefile, so much the better.

And finally, please always provide a useful Subject line. "Please help"
is not a useful subject line. Due to the volume of spam on the Internet
these days most public mailing lists are set up to hold posts by
non-members and require a moderator to go through and approve or delete
them. This determination is almost always made by quickly looking at a
few of the headers of the email: there's not enough time to examine the
body of every message. If your Subject looks like it might be spam it
will be discarded unread.

Good luck!
