RE: GNU make 3.81rc1 released -- please test.

I've not seen any core dumps since applying the patch to variable.c you
sent out. Also the bug with -W and VPATH is fixed, which is great
because I can now reliably build from ClearCase dynamic views after a
rebase. In summary rc1 with the above patch is looking good.
