Follow-up Comment #1:

Hi Oliver; in the make code, the "***" prefix happens when make finds an error
that it deems to be fatal (that is, that causes make to stop and not continue
processing more targets).  When this message is printed, make is specifically
deciding not to stop here for some reason so no "***" is shown.
