Is it important to have a Visual Studio project to build GNU make?
isn't it sufficient to use the build_w32.bat file, or one of the other
methods to build GNU make on Windows? You will have to explicitly
source the VCVARSALL bat file from whichever version of Visual Studio
you want to build with yourself first.

But, unless you plan on developing or debugging GNU make itself using
Visual Studio I'm not sure there's a huge advantage to having a project
file. I don't do a lot of development on Windows so if there's some
good reason to include a project file, please let me know.
