Follow-up Comment #1:

All of the files you mention are _generated_ files, not source files.  Adding
generated files to the Git repository only leads to sorrow and madness; since
there's enough madness in the world already we don't add to it in this way.

If you want to build from Git the instructions are in the README.git file. 
This will require you to install a number of extra developer tools on your
system first.

The INSTALL file is copied into the distribution tarball and used by people
who are building from a release, not from Git.  I can add a note to the
beginning of that file pointing people to the README.git file if they're
building from Git.
