In this section and paragraph:

10.5.4 How Patterns Match

...

"When the target pattern does not contain a slash (and it usually does not), directory names in the file names are removed from the file name before it is compared with the target prefix and suffix."

I think it should instead read:

"When the target pattern contains a slash (usually it does not), ..."



In other words, this paragraph speaks to how matching occurs with something like /dir/foo
