Follow-up Comment #1:
This is not the code that exists in the latest Git master, which is:
cmd = (char *)find_in_given_path (argv[0], p, NULL, 0);
You are using a newer version of gnulib so you need a newer version of the GNU
make code.
If you want to build the released 4.3 version, just get the release tarball:
it comes with all the gnulib content already available, and the expected
versions.
If you want to build from Git, then make sure you have the latest version from
Git.
