yes - I thought that. My first impression was that perhaps you were using
the /usr/xpg4 version (which usually dumps core when I'm testing it). But
I see that mvwhline is in the SVR4 curses in /usr/lib, so a missing limit
check is the explanation that I'm inclined to. (Though seeing an
alignment error there - I'm not sure).
