yes - I only intended the test/makefile's install.test target to be used in the package that can be built with test/make-tar.sh To make it optional in the top-level makefile, I'd have to separate that from the default "install" rule. test-programs seem to be the only thing that most people wouldn't want as part of that rule. -- Thomas E.
