I find Ole's request reasonable and polite. It is not displayed at every use of parallel if you turn it off with --will-cite (per run) or --citation (forever). See also `man parallel_alternatives`.
Took the time to read all of `man parallel_alternatives` .
Rather lot of chest beating included in such.
Funny - - - -for my uses it would seem that none of the other listed 'equivalents' were really that equivalent!
Considering the rather large number of other use cases listed in such - - - - the notice would appear to be rather aimed at a very very very tiny subset of such.
That, again, makes the notice rather insulting rather than appropriate.
