Is there an ext2 file system on it? (i.e. did you run mke2fs?)
Parted doesn't display the "partition type"... it displays the
detected file system.
Hmm... I though I made sure the fdisk ouptut showed that, but yes,
there is an ext2 fs on minor 1 and it is not being detected by
parted. fdisk (linux/dos) and lilo are happy with it.
