Not if gpt_read() isn't called while the first table gets corrupted.
(Why would you run parted after dd?  When they lose their table,
they run parted for the first time to since dd to recover, and they
get a bogus table!)

I guess the kernel should throw a tantrum if the CRCs don't match?
