I noted that when the mail was already sent, but found it to silly to
send a second mail to correct my mistake.

Do I understand correctly: I can add these 300 M to the swap partition
but not to the root partition (therefore I cannot add say 200 M to the
root partition and 100 M to Swap). This are evil news, since I want
space to install additional software under Linux I have to install
this now in a additional partition. Creating new partition also mean
sometime to loose space.

Is the Problem caused by the fact that these partitions are logical
one, would have been a solution to work only with primary ones. Or is
the Problem caused by the fact that the partition in question is
surrounded.

The Problem is that still it is recommended to have the root partition
below the 1024th cylinder, therefore the partition will be more at the
beginning and therefore surrounded, the only way I see (for future
Installations) is to place

/boot
/

Below the 10th cylinder

/usr
/opt

And the end of the disk

Yes I did but this example I did not find, that's why I asked.
