Bug in Parted

Hi,

there is a problem on my computer when calling parted.

Version: 1.6.1
When calling "parted /dev/sda print" the system crashes with a immediately
reboot
even without any errormessages.

System:         SuSE 8.0 with own kernel 2.4.17
                1 IDE-HDD
                2 IDE DVD-ROM, DVD+RW
                1 IDE-HDD on Firewire with SCSI-Emulation (/dev/sda) without 
any partition
