hi there,
i got the above message when running parted-1.6.3.
i was figuring it was probably something i did wrong. i've just tidied
up one of my drives and forgot to leave a "swap". parted wouldn't let me
create any more partitions, so i thought i'd try changing the last one
to extended and then splitting the resulting extended partition.
...2 minutes later.....
yes. it was my fault. i didn't realise that i couldn't create all my
partitions as "primary". hooray for me, i learned something today.
anyway, to cause the problem, i tried to invoke parted with:
"parted /dev/hda4"
when i had 3 primary partitions and a fourth extended.
well, all is well now. i'd like to thank you for the great tool you've
provided. parted has done something i've been wanting to be able to do
for some time now. keep up the good work.
