Hi Andrew.

Well... a new day a new problem...

As you suggested I went ahead with the rescue process. But now it turns up
that parted 1.4 18 doesn't have a rescue posibillity and parted 1.6.3 tells me:

Error: Unable to satisfy all constraints on the partition

So what do a wise man do then?

I don't know if it is of any good for you, but I forgot to tell that I have
inserted the old (faulty) disk as slave in my computer. And the new disk as
master. If I try to start the computer as a Windows machine it stop right
after LILO, whereas the Linux machine happily goes along starting up.

I have wondered if I can /should try to delete some of the 55 partition all
residing on the same place? But I am unsure of how to do it.

Do you have time for another hint?

Thanks in advance

Regards
Søren

P.S. I take it that I primarily shall send my posting to <address@hidden>.
I have however send this to your personal mail adress also, as I am a bit
unsure of how things are working. Shall I drop that in case there is a need
for a mail or two more?
