ext3 resize bug

hello!

i'm very desperate. i'm not a hacker or any cool linux geek. but...
yes, i dit it, i used parted to resize my ext3 partition... maybe i
should do fsck on it before... but i didn't.

i resized hda1 from 3.5GB to 5.1GB. and then it started...

now parted says:

"Warning: Partition 1 is 5185,011Mb, but the file system is 3498,500Mb."

"Warning: The information sector has the wrong signature (0). Select
cancel for now, and send in a bug report. If you're desperate, it's
probably safe to ignore."

-so i'm sending a bug report

AND, WHATS QUITE SCARYY:

Minor Start End Type Filesystem Flags
1 0,031 5185,041 primary fat32 boot

NOTE THAT IT IS EXT3 PARTITION!!! NOT FAT32!!!

WHAT'S EVEN WEIRDER, FDISK SEES IT RIGHT:

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 * 1 661 5309451 83 Linux

PLEASE, HELP, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO... I WASTE A LOT OF SPACE ON THAT
DISK AND MISS SPACE TOO, THAT'S WHY I DECIDED TO RESIZE...

ok, now i'm trying windows partition magic, so please hurry before i
kill my poor little linux by accident! :)

j.

PS: i'm using this linux now! it's debian. partition is broken but fsck
shows it's ok. so it seems like there is good fs on bad partition... but
it works so far.....
